World Yoga Day

JUN 21, 2022

In recent years, the importance of yoga is spreading across the globe. Especially, since 2015 because it was the year when 21st June was declared as International Yoga Day by United Nations and initially proposed by The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. He had suggested this day because it is the longest day of the year and has special significance in many parts of the world and as well as due to its importance in the Yogic Culture. It marks as the day of Summer Solstice, it occurs when one of Earth’s poles has its maximum tilt toward the Sun.

It’s not about being good at something. It’s about being good to yourself.

Summer Solstice is considered as the very beginning of Yoga. As per the Vedas, Lord Shiva was in deep meditation since many years and never paid any attention to anybody until seven people who really wanted to learn from him sat with him for 84 years until Lord Shiva couldn’t ignore them anymore. So he turned into an Adiyogi (The first Yogi) and transmitted the science of yoga to the Saptarishis, who then brought the knowledge they acquired to the people.

Yoga is a very good practice which heals your body and mind. It improves strength, balance and flexibility of our body. It helps in relieving back pain and improves heart health. It also regulates better sleep cycle and helps you in managing stress. Music is a good stimulator of workout and exercise because music has the power to improve and boost your mood. Coincidentally, today also marks as World Music Day.

Yoga is a light, which once lit will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter your flame.

– B.K.S. Iyengar

Yoga with music forms a perfect harmony of bliss and mindfulness. Everyone should start practicing yoga and for people just getting into it. They should listen to music while doing so as it elevates mood and motivates to perform more. Yoga is much more impactful when you do it in nature and living in city seldom provides that privilege to us. Pollution levels are far less in wilderness and away from cities and urban areas. One way to protect yourself and still enjoy the breath of fresh air is by using an air purifier or air ionizer.

Air Purifiers and Ionizers clean and sanitize the air by two different methods and both are effective as their sole job is to clean the air around you. Air purifiers clean the air by trapping the viruses and bacteria in its filters while ionizers require no filter and are much more effective as they eliminate the viruses completely. Ionizers release negative and positive ions that eliminate the viruses and bacteria. One product to try is Burge’s Ion Dome, it is an air ionizer that kills 99% of viruses in a closed space within an hour.

It is certified by ICMR recognised and ILAC accredited RGCB lab and it has zero ozone generation.
